Man holding a coffee mug in warm morning light — Why I Built Cbdeeme

Why I Built Cbdeeme

Where It Really Started

There was a period in my life when alcohol quietly shifted from manageable to destructive.

From the outside, I was high-functioning. I led communications teams. I consulted. I ran campaigns. I had built a solid career. But behind the scenes, my drinking escalated until I hit a breaking point.

Eventually, I entered detox and then began the process of rebuilding my health — and my life.

Early recovery isn’t glamorous. It’s not dramatic speeches and sudden clarity. It’s small, steady decisions. And for me, one of the hardest parts wasn’t willpower.

It was sleep.

I couldn’t sleep for more than an hour or two at a time. Exhaustion compounds everything — mentally, emotionally, physically. My doctor asked if I had ever considered CBD. And like most people, I assumed anything hemp-related meant getting stoned but that wasn’t what I was looking for.

But I tried it.

And for the first time in months, I slept.

CBD didn’t “fix” my life. Recovery takes work. But it gave me something foundational: stability. And once I began sleeping again, everything else became more manageable.

The Education Gap

As I talked openly about my recovery, I was surprised by how misunderstood CBD and hemp were.

Smart, educated adults assumed CBD meant intoxication. Others had tried low-quality products and dismissed the entire category. Some didn’t know the difference between hemp and marijuana. Most had never read a Certificate of Analysis (nor had I).

At the same time, I had spent years leading communications teams and running national campaigns. I understood how messaging shapes perception — and how easily nuance gets lost when speed and sales take priority.

What I saw in hemp frustrated me:

  • Hype over clarity

  • Buzzwords over education

  • “Proprietary blends” with little to no transparency

  • Too many products that felt rushed or careless

There was a gap between what CBD actually is and how it was being marketed.

That gap is why Cbdeeme exists.

Why We Built This

My wife and I relocated to Georgia for what was supposed to be a temporary change of scenery and a break from snowbound cabin fever in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. It became a reset — a chance to build something intentional.

Cbdeeme was created with two goals:

  • To sell high-quality CBD and hemp products I would personally use.

  • To make education central — not secondary.

That’s why we built a Learning Center. That’s why we talk openly about dosing, onset time, and realistic expectations. That’s why we emphasize lab results and product transparency.

CBD is not magic. It’s not for everyone. But when it’s used thoughtfully, it can be part of a steadier routine.

I know that firsthand.

What We Believe

We believe:

  • Adults deserve clear information.

  • Wellness should feel grounded, not trendy.

  • Transparency builds trust.

  • Hemp doesn’t need hype — it needs context.

  • Recovery, stress management, and sleep support deserve honest conversation.

Cbdeeme isn’t built on marketing gimmicks. It’s built on lived experience, professional communication expertise, and a simple idea:

If you’re going to put something in your body, you should understand it.

A Note on Recovery
I’m open about my past because stigma thrives in silence. Recovery is work. It’s daily. It’s imperfect. And it’s worth it.

CBD was one tool that helped me stabilize during that process. Not a cure. Not a replacement for responsibility. Just one piece of rebuilding.

If you’re here because you’re curious, skeptical, cautious, or simply trying to sleep better — you’re welcome here.  And our family has now grown far beyond just the CBD-sleep connection — embracing the benefits of THC, CBD and cannabinoid blends that now play a role in our daily stress management and overall relaxation routines.

We built this for adults who want clarity.
